OPERATION REVEILLE
A community outreach event dubbed "Operation Reveille" will offer Rochester-area veterans advocacy, counseling assistance and help in accessing veterans' benefits, housing, training, health services and employment.
Veterans Outreach Center, Inc. will host the event, along with its newly organized Veterans Interfaith Clergy Advisory of Rochester (VICAR), which consists of area clergy who are veterans themselves or are experienced in serving vets.
The New York State Division of Veterans Affairs and other service providers will be available at Peace Baptist Church, 6-8 Oregon Street, Rochester, from 1 - 3 p.m. on July 24th, August 14th and September 4th, 2008; and at Christian Friendship Baptist Church, 165 Beckwith Road, Henrietta, from 1 - 3 p.m. on September 26th, 2008.
All veterans are invited to stop by, enjoy some refreshments and connect with these service providers and ministries.
VOICES TOGETHER
Voices Together, a Summit for improving our veterans' reintegration system, sponsored by Veterans Outreach Center, Inc. and the New York State Health Foundation, will be held on three separate occasions: Friday, September 19, 2008, at the Crosswinds Wesleyan Church, Canandaigua, NY, Saturday, September 20, 2008, at Nazareth College, Rochester, NY, and Friday, September 26, 2008, at Genesee Community College, Batavia, NY. All sessions are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Members of the armed services, family members, and social service providers will come together to explore opportunities for strengthening the system of our veterans' reintegration, specifically quality of life and health issues. NATIONAL VETERANS JOB EXPO 2008
The National Veterans Job Expo 2008, sponsored by Veterans Outreach Center, Inc., will be held Wednesday, September 24th, 2008, from 2 - 6 p.m. at the Eisenhart Auditorium at the Rochester Museum & Science Center, 657 East Avenue, Rochester, NY.
All military service veterans who are looking for employment are invited to meet local and national employers. Bring your military separation / discharge document, if available.
