Do I need an appointment?
Walk-in visits are welcome, though we encourage appointments to be made. An appointment will ensure the counselor or case manager you need to see will be available at a time most convenient for you. Walk-in visits may experience a wait up to 45 minutes until a member of our staff is available.
Where do I park?
Free public parking is readily available along South Avenue and Comfort Streets, and handicapped accessible parking can be found behind our facility along “Veterans Way.”
Are you on a bus line?
Yes, the RGRTA 5/5X bus line runs right to our location on South Avenue.
A photo ID and a DD214 is all that is required to confirm your veteran status.
What if I don’t have my DD214?
DD214s can be reissued by the Dept. of Defense through a simple request form. You can complete the process by clicking here, or calling 1-866-272-6272. Our staff can help you begin the process, too, but your access to full services may be delayed while we await confirmation of this document.
What can I expect on my first visit?
If you are a new visitor you will meet with one of our case managers who will provide you with an overview of services, and connect you with the services you are interested in and eligible for. The case manager can also offer information on additional resources in the Rochester community if you have a need or interest outside of what is offered through our Center.
Is there a cost for services/classes?
There is absolutely no cost to veterans and families for any service available through the Center.
Is your computer lab open to any veteran?
Basic enrollment in the Center is required for lab access and class participation. You can complete the enrollment form in our Resource Center at any time, without an appointment.
I’d like to volunteer- where do I start?
Your gift of time and talent can benefit hundreds of our veterans- thank you! Find more information on what volunteer roles can be found within the Center here: Volunteer Opportunities
I’d like to donate (monetary gifts, goods, services)- what do you need?
Visit our ‘Ways to Donate’ page for more information on the ways you might consider making a financial contribution to our organization in support of our programs, our operating budget, or in memory or honor of a loved one: Donate Page
I have made a donation- what can I expect?
First, we thank you for your support- please know that every contribution makes a real impact on the operations of our Center. Donation acknowledgements are processed on a bi-weekly basis, and notices to families of memorial/honorary contributions are processed monthly. Though staffing considerations (holidays, illness, etc.) can affect our processing time within reason, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you feel you are experiencing a significant delay awaiting your valid IRS receipt/acknowledgement.
