  2. No. The Veterans Outreach Center, Inc. is a community-based not-for-profit agency located in Rochester, NY. You can contact the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at www.va.gov.

  3. How can I get a copy of my military discharge papers (DD214)?
  4. Visit our Resource Center office - our staff will help you complete the necessary paper work.  Once your discharge papers have been located, they will be sent to our office.

  5. Who should I contact regarding:
    • upgrading my discharge status
    • disability claim benefits
    • GI loan benefits (education and home loans)
    • obtaining medals for myself or a family member
    • burial benefits

  7. Where can I receive medical treatment through the VA in the Greater Rochester area?
  8. The VA (Rochester Outpatient) Clinic is located at 465 Westfall Road, Rochester, NY, (585) 463-2600.

  9. Does the Veterans Outreach Center accept items for donation such as clothing, furniture, appliances, and automobiles?

    No. We direct all donations to the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Chapter 20 Thrift Store, located at 1199 E. Main Street, Rochester, NY.

    Please call (585) 482-8036 to donate clothing and/or household goods or to donate a vehicle, call (585) 224-8484. VVA Chapter 20 generously supports our programs and services.
  10. Do you assist veterans with obtaining housing, furniture and/or food?
  11. Yes. Our Case Managers can refer you to the appropriate agency or organization for assistance with these issues. Please contact us at (585) 546-1081.

  12. Does VOC offer assistance in employment and training?
  13. Yes. Contact our Resource Center at (585) 546-4250 to register for services such as employment placement and/or vocational and computer training.

  14. Where can I purchase flags, flagpoles, banners, or other patriotic items?
  15. Visit our STARS & STRIPES The Flag Store located at 455 South Avenue, Rochester, NY. You can contact us at (585) 546-FLAG (3524) or visit our website at www.eflagstore.com. All proceeds from the sales support our programs and services for veterans and their family members.

  16. Can I make a donation in memory of a veteran?
  17. Yes. Many veterans are remembered through donations from friends or family members. We rely on the generosity of the community for maintaining programs and services for all veterans.

  18. Do you have volunteer opportunities?
  19. Yes. Our annual Flag Day Campaign (June 14th) relies on the support of volunteers, either individuals or groups, to distribute hand-held flags and pins in exchange for contributions to support our programs and services.
