5K Race/Walk starts @ 9:30 a.m.
Directions & Parking Information
Genesee Valley Park is located along the banks of the Genesee River
across from the University of Rochester. You can enter the park from either
Elmwood Avenue or East River Road.
Look for the Round House Pavilion for plenty of free parking!

A Stars & Stripes Celebration Dinner 2008
A heartfelt thanks to Thomas Flynn, President Emeritus Monroe Community College, honorary chair for A Stars & Stripes Celebration 2008; to the event’s sponsors (see list below); and to all who attended.
We are also grateful to our Gold Star Families for their participation and for allowing us to remember their loved ones who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Keynote speaker, Lt. Gen. Russel L Honoré, lived up to his reputation as a "Ragin’ Cajun." Both colorful and informative, his speech delineated the principles necessary to protect people and organizations through unexpected and uncontrollable crises.
Stirlin Harris presented Rochester businessman and Vietnam veteran Mike Palmeri, owner of Marketview Liquor, the Edward and Jacqueline S. Harris Award for Exemplary Service to Veterans and Veterans Outreach Center, named for Stirlin's parents, who were instrumental in keeping VOC solvent during the agency’s early years.
Daan Braveman, President of Nazareth College, received special recognition for his leadership in taking the new GI Bill a step further by providing scholarship money that will allow veterans the choice to pursue a private education.
And of course, thank you Don Alhart, emcee extraordinaire, for once again helping to make this annual event so memorable.
