40th Anniversary Campaign seeks to earn $1 for every veteran
Rochester, NY- Veterans Outreach Center announces the launch of a campaign for donors to support and celebrate 40 years of service to the greater Rochester veteran community. Whether by financial contribution or ‘showing our true colors’, there is a way for every community and every citizen to participate.
To support the programs available to the 68,000 veterans of greater Rochester, donors can give as little as $1 or as much as $1,000. The campaign’s goal is to raise $70,000 for the nationally recognized Center, a total that equals about $1 for every veteran in the community.
For donors with smart phones, making a pledge is as easy as sending a text message. Donors who text the word ‘VETERANS’ to the phone number 87804 will receive a secure link to a payment website where they can process a donation to Veterans Outreach Center. *Standard text messaging fees apply.
Donors can also contribute through the Veterans Outreach Center website or by sending a donation check to the agency’s South Avenue offices.
“Keeping our services barrier free- that’s no cost, no denying service based on your military record- has been the reason we have been able to reach so many veterans throughout these years,” says Colonel Gary Yaple. “Rochester is time and again recognized as one of the nation’s best places for veterans to come home to and we know why. Because our neighbors welcome our veterans with open arms, our employers with jobs, and our colleges and universities with opportunity. Giving just $1 for every veteran is a small gift that will yield a huge impact through our Center, and help us ensure we will be here for another 40 years and beyond.”
Veterans Outreach Center believes the ‘true colors’ of Rochester are red, white, and blue- and we encourage all residents to join the HOME FRONT FLAGS movement. Fly a 100% ‘Made in the USA’ American flag on your home, or wear an American flag lapel pin on your heart.
Both items are available through the Stars & Stripes Flag Store (at 455 South Avenue or www.eflagstore.com) where all proceeds benefit Veterans Outreach Center. These visible displays of our ‘true colors’ are an easy way to show your support for our veteran neighbors and for Veterans Outreach Center.
This campaign is presented by sponsor Canandaigua National Bank, and will be visible throughout all local branches through September 2013. George Hamlin, IV, Chairman of Canandaigua National Bank, is pleased to support Veterans Outreach Center and says, “Something we know about in our business is investing- and we invest in a person’s promise and their values as much as we do financially. Veterans Outreach Center is a smart investment, one that we know has paid off for tens of thousands of local veterans, who have earned our respect and deserve our support. We stand behind Veterans Outreach Center and encourage everyone to make this investment, even if it’s just $1, in this program that doesn’t just promise but delivers life changing services to our heroes.”
Additional campaign support is provided by B&L Wholesale, Fusion Digital, WROC-TV & FOX Rochester, Democrat & Chronicle, and Monroe County.
